    We need testers for the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.

    A very major revision is coming out soon, a total overhaul.

    You'd be testing specific things on a list, instead of just doing typical gameplay.

    No mods allowed, except for UI specific ones.

  • Better indexing of UUF3P after cleaning it

    After cleaning UUF3P (see article How to clean UF3P and get rid of Wooden planks bug in UF3P version 2.3.2 ) you can always do a little trick for better indexing of its custom-created entries (the little bugger is bloated with these!) using FO3 Editor.

    1. Open the editor.
    2. Right-click on Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm
    3. Go to the section "Renumber Form Ids" and expand it.
    4. Enter the value 000801 and hit Enter.
    5. Wait for FO3 Editor to do its job.
    6. Save the task and close the editor.

    Better indexing => faster searching through all custom-created entries, one tiny step forward for better performance.

    Do not do this for the main esms. You will break your game.

    An esp-less collection of Quality-of-Life improvements in one file with INI settings to enable tweaks.

    All features are optional and disabled by default and can be enabled by launching the game to fill the INI and then modifying the relevant line under the section to be ‘= 1’ instead of ‘= 0’. For hotkey options, change the value under to the desired key.

    It is safe to install, update or uninstall mid-playthrough (a new save is not required).

    When updating, the mod's INI will be automatically filled with any new settings after launching the game - you do not need to reconfigure settings when updating.

  • Junk Tower Base Camp

    This is a simple base-camp I created just east of Megaton so I can store stuff and rest without the extra step of an internal cell.  It's an external cell, no internal cells are used, so once you fast-travel here,  you're here, no questions asked.  I've a high-speed lift I added just as an experiment as well as an target range at the back and some low-level turrets for basic defense....

  • Making of - The missadventures of a retexturing noob growing into a somewhat experienced Gimp .dds developer

    Wow, I don't now how long I worked on this, may have been more than 40h. A few all nighters ans well as some sunny spring quarantaine afternoons.
    Well it was my first large retexture project, and a lot of it was learning and redoing work.
    First I did a 1k version which of course looked unsatisfying together with Favored Souls gorgeous textures.
    I wondered: Is it as easy to changes textures to 2k by just chaning the image resolution? Yes it was.
    Start from Scratch...
    The new texture was good, but looked blury - well, the UV map /glow map(?) texture was missalinged, of course they need to be pixel perfect...

    Took me a while to realize that is easyer to copy the entire texture as a new layer over the UV map texture and then cut out the neccesary parts...

  • Mods loading order when playing Fallout 3

    1. Your mods' loading order should be (for vanilla esms):
    Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm
    CivisRomanus Unofficial Fallout 3 Fixes.esp
    CivisRomanus Unofficial Fallout 3 Fixes Dialogues.esp
    CivisRomanus Unofficial Fallout 3 Fixes Optional.esp (if you use it)
    CivisRomanus Unofficial Fallout 3 Fixes Cheat Items (if you use it)
    Use LOOT to set the main esms in the correct order. As you probably know, LOOT will *not* (correctly) sort *all* your 10000 installed mods.
    Use the editor to manually change the mods loading order.
    2. Clean up the main DLCs esms with the editor. *Do not* clean Fallout3.esm.

    New in CivisRomanus Unofficial Fallout 3 Fixes 1.62

    1. Fix for a bug in version 1.61 where Following In His Footsteps cannot be continued after killing the GNR Behemoth.
    2. Fix for a weird bug in Enclave camp 31 where the vertibird will spawn landed on the ground (in the ravine directly, instead in flight).
    3. Rory McLaren will die of sadness (after finishing Rescue From Paradise quest), if you tell Penny to leave without him (fix computer or repair electric box path). His stats are also corrected.
    4. Tweak for DLC05MZ3QuestScript (responsible for This Galaxy Ain't Big Enough...). Runs better now, not that lame as before.
    5. Fix for a glitch in Sally' script, where you can enter in dialogue with her while she's crawling through vents (to open the doors) ...

    objective not being displayed, if you took the Locker Key from suitcase
    *before* activating the computer in Motel Room 1D.
    3. The activator responsible for 2 corrected accordingly. It will no longer run afterwards.
    4. Fix for some glitch in DLC04FerrisWheelWheelSCRIPT responsible for Ferris Wheel when you install the Cog jammer.
    5. Jackson's body will disappear in 10s after being killed and his script will stop running.
